After bathing on Saturday morning, wear clean dark blue, black, or simple cotton clothes. Pour mustard oil into a small iron or steel bowl, drop a coin and a few black sesame seeds into it, look at the reflection of your face in the oil for a few moments, and donate it at a Shani temple or to a needy person.

Visit a sacred Peepal tree on Saturday morning (since Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi reside in the Peepal tree on Saturdays). Pour water mixed with a little raw milk, jaggery, and black sesame at its roots. Walk 7 clockwise parikramas while tying raw cotton thread. In the evening after sunset, light a mustard oil earthen diya with a few grains of black urad under the Peepal tree.

Conclude Saturday worship by visiting Lord Hanuman or reciting the Hanuman Chalisa before a ghee/jasmine oil lamp, as Shanidev promised Lord Hanuman never to afflict His sincere devotees. Feed a sweet roti brushed with mustard oil to a black dog or crow, and offer food or footwear to hardworking laborers and the needy.
