Auspicious Purchase & Purificatory Cleansing

Purchase brass, copper, silver, or gold utensils/coins during Shubh Muhurat (never buy iron or sharp glass). Wash the new vessel with pure water mixed with Gangajal, tie sacred Moli thread around it, and fill it with whole coriander seeds (dhania) and sweets.

Light all four wicks, take it outside the main entrance, place it facing the SOUTH direction (direction of Yama), and pray for the protection of all family members from accidental or premature death.
